Rev Liem Duong

Was born 6th of June 1976 in Vinh Long Southern of Vietnam. Fr Liem came to Australia in May 1992 with his family and has resided in Sydney since.

He was accepted by the late Cardinal Edward Clancy and entered the Seminary of the Good Shepherd in 2000.

He was ordained as Deacon by Bishop Julian Porteous (now Archbishop of Hobart Tasmania) on the 24th September 2005.

Father Liem was appointed by Cardinal Pell, to work and live at Saint Mary’s Cathedral Sydney. On 19th of August 2006 the Cardinal ordained Fr Liem and appointed him as an Assistant Priest as well as the Master of Ceremony for the Cardinal.

He graduated with a Bachelor and Master of Theology. In January 2009, Cardinal Pell appointed Fr Liem as an assistant priest at Sacred Heart Cabramatta, where he was actively involved with the youth ministry and work for the Archdiocese of Sydney.

In February 2014 before Cardinal Pell left for Rome, he appointed Father Liem as a Senior Chaplain to the Vietnamese Catholic Community, one of the largest ethnic communities in the Archdiocese of Sydney.

In January 2016 Archbishop Anthony Fisher appointed Father as Administrator of Sacred Heart parish, Cabramatta.

Father Liem has been appointed the 4th Parish Priest of Cabramatta and officially installed on the 18th December 2016 by Archbishop Anthony Fisher who also appointed Father as a member of the College of Consultors and Trustee; Member/Secretary of the Council of Priests; Member of the Catholic Charitable Work Fund Appeal Tribunal and member of the Clergy Fund.
